Joint GCC naval exercise (Union 18) kicks off in Bahrain

MANAMA, March 13 (KUNA) -- The Joint GCC naval exercise (Union 18) kicked off Sunday in in the Kingdom's extended territorial waters with participation of the Royal Bahrain Naval Force (RBNF), the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), and Arab naval forces, official media reported.
Union 18 is one of the most rigorous naval trainings in terms of the size of forces involved, quality of combat techniques, and equipment employed, General Command of Bahraini Defense Forces said in a statement, according to Bahrain News Agency (BNA).
It targets exchanging military expertise and enhancing military efficiency and combat readiness in order to meet the joint military action requirements between Gulf countries, it added. (end) mga.ma
